Junior School Wardens Competition
On Thursday 24th of May we took part in a Junior School Wardens Competition in Tarbert National School. It was organised and co-funded by Kerry County Council and Limerick County Council. The organiser was Michelle Mullane from Kerry Co. Council. The seven representatives from C.B.S were Patrick Roche, Odhran Liston, Paul McCarthy, Jason Moloney, David O’Connor and Mark McDonnell. We left at 9:30 from school and got there at 10:30, but they weren’t ready for us so we went to the playground! After thirty minutes they were ready for us and they gave us some snacks. The Mayor of Kerry Cllr. Tim Buckley was there and he gave a speech. The other participating schools were Rathkeale Boys, Ballylanders N.S, Tarbert N.S and Rathkeale Girls. The judge from Waterford Co. Council did a draw to see who went first and we were first. We had two goes at doing our routine. After everybody was finished we went back to the Community Centre for the prize giving and we also had lunch. First prize was a portable DVD player and second prize was a digital camera. The judge said that it was a very close competition and it came down to the little things. First place went to Rathkeale Boys School and second place went to Ballylanders N.S. We got medals. After that we went back to the playground for a while before we went back to school. We were back at 2:40 and missed the whole school day!
